A satirical internet movement called the “Cockroach Janata Party“, which did not exist before May 16, recorded a higher average search interest score than the Bharatiya Janata Party over a continuous window.

The movement has no candidates. No manifesto. No election funding. It crossed 13 million+ Instagram followers within days of launch and outscored India’s ruling party in search attention before most newspapers had even covered it.
BJP has governed India since 2014. CJP was four days old.
